From the 16th to the 23rd of February 2020, the 5th National Theatre Festival will be organised by Minerva Natya Sanskriti Kendra, department of Information and Culture, Govt. of West Bengal. The festival will feature twenty five plays to be performed across three venues, namely Rabindra Sadan, Madhusudan Mancha and Minerva Theatre. Theatre groups from West Bengal, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Assam, Gujarat, New Delhi, Jharkhand, Bihar, Tripura and Jammu will perform in this festival. Over the next eight days theatre lovers can watch their favourite Bengali plays and also experience a bouquet of other performances from across the country in different languages. There will be a ‘Meet the Directors’ session on the 22nd featuring Ajay Malkani and Goutam Halder and on the 24th featuring Makrand Deshpande and Debesh Chattopadhyay between 11am to 1pm. The session will be moderated by Anshuman Bhowmick. The festival will be inaugurated on the 16th of February at 5.30pm at Rabindra Sadan.
